Here's What Audiences Young and Old Are Saying...

I am sending a thank you on my behalf to all the Storytellers!  The feedback I am hearing from teachers in the lunch room, in the hallways and anytime I see them is overwhelmingly positive!  They were thrilled to have the storytellers visit.  The students are excited to begin telling and writing their own stories. They are asking for a return visit next year!

Everything went extremely well at Friday night’s Halloween Happenings and the kids just loved you, Ingrid!  I watched their little faces

and their eyes never left yours while you were telling your stories! AWESOME job!

Thank you for coming Ingrid.  The students really enjoyed your storytelling.  Here are some quotes.

"I like learning stories and reading books.  I liked the acting out of characters."

“I liked her expression.  She was doing her best to tell a story and it had a good ending."

"I like spooky stories. And hers were spooky"

"I like how she acted like the people in the story and making the sounds of the thump and scream."

"The storyteller made me get an idea to write a story."

"I like how she expressed herself and told the story and came up with the stuff."

My daughter was in one of your sessions Ingrid, and unprompted, said you were "fantastic." Then I asked my second grader what was his favorite thing from arts day he said, without hesitation, the storytelling.

The Notre Dame Literacy event was a great success.  Our parents told us their experience was wonderful. I heard stories from mothers who have children who do not like to read that said when they got home after the literacy event their children wanted to order books off of Amazon.  In addition, the children really enjoyed spending time with you, Ingrid.  Our parents were thrilled how you captivated the children and how comfortable you made them feel.  Wonderful job, thank you. Well contact you again for next year.

Ingrid, I was able to catch your show with the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild, and it was DIVINE! You are such a warm and fun presence. I was taken back to being in elementary school and having grown-ups with a similar sort of vibe doing assemblies and such - you are the sort of grown-up I would have been just mesmerized by. Truly, it was wonderful work! Congratulations.

What an enjoyable story time I had at Nazareth Public Library! Ingrid Bohn spoke to us with sight, sound and touch with her uplifting folk tales. She encouraged all of the children to participate and they loved it! She and her stories will be a great addition to your next children's party or event.

You blew me away today! That performance was just the right collection of silly, thoughtful, (I loved the Butterfly brothers -  such a good   message of inclusiveness), and serious.

The way you added a song to the House Without Doors was a perfect story to end with.

I wish we got some audience video of you doing the Hokey Pokey.

The stories were excellent for the audience that we had.

My favorite audience member, Miss Giggles, even listened more than I have ever heard her listen.  She’s special needs and usually spends the   whole show trying to get her caretaker to laugh.

 Honestly.  You are so good.

Cops N Kids offers a series of free events to the children of our community throughout the year at our Cops ‘n’ Kids Reading Room. One of those who has stepped forward to partner with us is Ingrid Bohn of the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild. Ingrid has volunteered as a presenter at several of our events over the years and is with us again this summer. She is an exceptional storyteller who captures the attention of her audiences with her amazing talent, energy and joyful spirit. Listeners are drawn into the plot of her stories, not with pictures, but with their imagination—which is enhanced by Ingrid’s use of her entire body and by the tone of her voice and expressive facial features. Ingrid transports her audiences, taking them on a magical journey that only she can provide. She creates magic with the children. We continue to be honored with her presence, and we delight in knowing that we have been able to present such a gifted individual to the children and families we serve. Cops ‘n’ Kids “works” because community partners such as Ingrid join us in our efforts.
